The Umbrella Centre, in Oxford Street, is just to the South of Whitstable's main shopping and eating areas in the High Street, and is on the left side as you drive into Whitstable (from the south). If you are coming from the A299 (Thanet Way) leave at the Whitstable exit, (take care not to miss the exit, if you are coming from the East it will be 7 more miles before you can turn around!) and follow the signs to Whitstable town centre. After about 1 mile you pass under the railway, go straight on at the mini roundabout, and the Umbrella Centre is just beyond the next turning (Nelson Road) on the left.
Car Parking
On a Sunday afternoon there is free parking available on local residential streets, but take care to check the signs for limitations. There is also a convenient pay & display car park in Shaftsbury Road, at the rear of the Umbrella Centre, with a footpath through to Oxford Street. For details and directions see -
I have also been advised (informally) that the car park at the solicitors is not used on Sundays, so is available for free use. This is at the back of the Shaftsbury Road car park, next door to the Umbrella centre.
Later on that evening...
If you want any recommendations for eating, please contact me and I can supply contact details for some of the areas renowned seafood and more. Advance bookings may be necessary.
